The Future is Here- Honda Technology

Honda isn’t just your typical automobile company, it’s also a company that builds robots, motorcycle airbags, and more! Here are a couple of the coolest things Honda has done with technology over the years.

1. ASIMO

ASIMO is a humanoid robot that was designed by Honda back in October 2000. ASIMO can do most basic human moves like walking, running and climbing stairs. But something even more impressive about the robot is it can understand how to pour liquid from one cup to another and can even speak sign language.

2. Walking Assist

The creation of ASIMO also brought on the creation of the Walking Assist. This technology helps those with weak leg muscle to become more mobile in their walking and it makes physically demanding tasks easier with a “lighter” body.

3. U3-X

The U3-X is similar to a unicycle and helps individuals who lack mobility. It’s the world’s first wheel structure that enables movement in all directions. To move, users sit on the device like a stool and lean to push forward. Can you imagine having these in an office instead of normal chairs?

4. Honda Jet

Honda loves to take on new challenges and since they’ve been able to create a range of products for land and sea, why not reach for the sky? Honda began researching aircrafts in 1986 and has since developed a luxury plane for the few lucky passengers.

5. Motorcycle Airbags

It’s a simple concept and Honda put the idea into action. Honda developed the first motorcycle airbags in 2005 and released itin the US back in 2006. The motorcycles come equipped with crash sensors to indicate when to deploy the airbags to prevent damage to the driver.
